Holiday Story in Word Grades 2-Word-is a word processing program used to type things such as letters and reports.
Its good to use a word processor because it allows you to save yoru work, easily edit, and insert special features such as graphics, interesting fonts(styles) and colors.
Writing processor offer many tools for page layouts and make the document creative.
Open Microsoft Word
Notice the Title Bar-the colored bar along the top of the window. It shows the program and the document name.
Notice the Menu Bar-Every item on it gives you a menu; Click File to see the File Menu; Notice some of the items are ghosted or faded, indicating they are unavailable.
Notice the Formatting Tool Bar-Font and Font size drop down menus; Bold, Align Left, Center.
Flashing Insertion Point (Cursor) tells you where you will begin typing or erasing.
